worth the hype? fenty beauty gloss bomb

I was so skeptical of this product, because I'm not a huge fan of a super-glossy lip. And when you look at the product, it looks like it's got some shimmer running through it. But the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb is so. darn. pretty. Read on to find out why I'm obsessed...

So how does it perform?

Although it looks glittery in the tube, it doesn't translate as glittery AT ALL when applied. It bills itself as a "universal lip luminizer", and that's exactly what it does. It makes my lips look plush and plump and glowy (I never knew I wanted glowy lips until I had them!).

My favourite thing about it is that it imparts a gorgeous warm, nude stain. My lips are quite pigmented and nude products usually don't work super well on them--they just don't show up. This is totally different. It's great for a natural, moisturised lip look. And you can tap down the gloss to tone down the shine.

Any drawbacks?

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the scent! It smells like sweets. I personally don't like any face products that smell like food! Luckily the scent fades within half an hour. I love throwing this on with a simple makeup look or with a more glam, going-out look. It works with everything.

Worth the hype?

In my opinion, yes! At £16, the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb is more expensive than a drugstore lipgloss, but less expensive than a lot of other high-end options.
