It pains me to say that the most expensive mascara I've ever used is also one of the best mascaras I've ever used. I have a few things that are really important to me when it comes to mascara (yes, I'm that person who takes her mascara super seriously). The Tom Ford Ultra Length Mascara not only satisfies my list of non-negotiables, but it also pretty much makes all my eyelash dreams come true.
What's so good about it?
As I mentioned, there are a few things that are non-negotiable for me when it comes to mascara. There must be no flaking and no smudging. The formula must not irritate my eyes (so many mascara formulas do). It must be comfortable to wear all day. And most importantly of all, it must lengthen and add volume without clumping.
The Tom Ford Ultra Length Mascara does all of those things and more. It somehow manages to make my eyelashes super long and fluttery without clumping. It doesn't irritate my eyes. It doesn't smudge or flake (unlike the Charlotte Tilbury mascaras or Too Faced Better Than Sex). It just gives that perfect doe-eyed look. And what's more, it never looks too "makeup-y". It's just perfect.
What's the catch?
This mascara is....wait for it...£36. Yes, it's a mascara that's almost 40 quid. This is why I can't in good conscience recommend this for everyone! My bank account cries out in pain every time I need a refill. It's obviously up to you whether you want to shell out almost 40 quid every three months for this little guy. I personally don't really go out drinking, choosing to spend all my spare change on makeup instead, so that's how I justify it!
