There are few things that feel better than taking a really luxurious bath as a grown as woman. We're talking candles lit, bubble bath on tap, Ru Paul's Drag Race up on Netflix.

Here are my two bath-time essentials that allow me to relax enough that I feel like the kitchen isn't a mess and that I sort of have my life together.

When I got my first bikini wax, it kind of felt like a rite of passage. I’ll admit: I was terrified. I pictured stripping down and lying on a cold table while a stranger ripped off my down-there hair. But who doesn’t love that clean, I-don't-need-to-worry-about-my-bikini-line feeling?

At the age of 25, I decided I was finally ready to brave it. Here are the 5 things I wish I’d known before going in.

9 things I've learned before turning 29

1) The phrase "anti-ageing" on products has really started to bother me. Ageing is just another word for living, and living is pretty freaking awesome. That having been said, no forehead wrinkles for me, please and thank you.

One of my favourite things about where we live is that there is so much natural beauty around us that we can explore pretty much whenever the weather lets us. This morning my husband and I went on a walk through some of the local fields and farms (not getting in the way of the farmers, of course), and I thought it would be a great opportunity to take some shots of my favourite products that keep me cozy from a brisk country walk to drinking tea on the couch (and watching Queer Eye).

4 little things you can do to feel better: self care

When I posted about my struggles with anxiety earlier in the year, I got such a supportive response. And I know there are so many people out there who struggle with anxiety and depression and who know how hard it can be get out of bed.

Over the years, I've learned some really great ways to cop…

jaffa, hummus, and mount arbel: our engagement story

I was extremely fortunate with my old job--it allowed me to travel all around the world for work. One of the places I was posted for a couple of months was Tel Aviv, Israel. My husband (who at that point, was my boyfriend), came with me...and while we were there, we got engaged!

sunday coffee series: watch & read

Happy Sunday, lovelies! I've been sleeping in this morning, which has been so nice. For some reason I have been sleeping horribly this week, but for the past two nights I have slept so solidly. You know when you fall asleep at an intense grandma time and then stay asleep for ages? So refreshing…

wedding wednesday: dress details & how I found my dress

So I'll admit it: I have always been one of those girls who planned their wedding from a very early age. Basically, as soon as I realised wedding dresses existed, I was on board. I don't even care if it makes me sound shallow! Heck...I'm writing a beauty blog. The "shallow" s…

how to move from the city to the country

I was raised just outside of Washington, DC. And when I graduated college, I moved to the city itself and lived there for a few years. Needless to say, the move from capitol city to tiny Scottish fishing village was a big change. But it was a change I was ready for, and something I had been wantin…

marie & me: a messy girl's experience with spark joy

I have always been a messy person. Leaving clothes in piles on the floor is like second nature to me. And for a long time, this never bothered me. I was happy to have incredibly disorganised drawers and  closets and to wallow in my floordrobe.

But then something inside me changed, and I could no l…
