my daytime moisturiser duo: purito deep sea pure water cream and lixir skin universal emulsion

After I finished my Glossier Priming Moisturiser Rich AND went through my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, I felt like I was kind of in a moisturiser hole. I didn't know where to go from there. I love my Sunday Riley Tidal as a night cream, but as a daytime option, it's too wet-looking. And as much as I loved my Charlotte Tilbury, I didn't want to fork over the money for another pot--no matter magical it really is. And I didn't find that my Glossier PM Rich was really doing it for me anymore.

But I think I've found a concoction that's really working to hydrate me AND combat my redness!




Lixir Skin Universal Emulsion

I was totally drawn to this brand because of the chic packaging. I'll admit it. I'm a total whore for millennial pink (side note--can someone please explain to me what age group millennials actually are? it seems to vary based on who is deemed most irritating by the media).

I was even more intrigued when I read up on the formulation. The Lixir Skin Universal Emulsion is packed with hyaluronic acid, evening primrose oil, shea butter, and loads of other goodies. It's also meant to be used under the eye, as well. I figured I'd snatch up this little multi-tasker and see how it works.

I've been loving this--it's super hydrating and plumping. But beware--you only need a pea-sized amount! If I use any more than that, it doesn't absorb into my skin and starts to pill up.

Purito Deep Sea Pure Water Cream*

This budget-friendly Korean water cream is chock full of niacinamide, which is my skin's new BFF. It is the only product that seriously takes down the inflammation and background redness that go along with my rosacea.

I don't apply this all over my face--instead, I focus it on my nose and cheeks, applying most thickly to the apples of the cheeks and spreading the remainder down toward the jaw line. This cream is so good at taking down my redness and giving me calmed skin all day long.
