One thing I get asked a lot is what good-quality skincare and makeup can I get at the drugstore? Well have a read on to find out my top drugstore mask picks, part 1...
Vichy Quenching Mineral Mask
This is, simply put, a little pot of soothing loveliness. I read about it on a rosacea blog written by Talonted Lex, who recommended it for calming down angry skin at the end of the day. I think what makes it so good for sensitive, red skin is the inclusion of Vitamin B3--my rosacea skin freakin' LOVES B vitamins.
It definitely calms down the skin and gives a boost of hydration, too. It has a thick gel texture that is also offers a cooling feeling when first applied. The best part is that you can do this while you're in a bit of a rush--you only have to leave it on for five minutes. I like to slap it on while I brush my teeth, allow it to absorb, and then massage in the remaining product down my neck and décolleté.
Masque Bar Charcoal Sheet Mask*
This is not to be confused with the Masque Bar Charcoal Peel Off Mask, which is apparently quite painful to actually peel off. This is a purifying AND nourishing sheet mask, made with Camellia flower (the same main ingredient used in Chanel skincare) and charcoal.
I was ridiculously impressed with this one. I left it on for 20 minutes whilst working away the other afternoon and when I removed it, this had SERIOUSLY knocked back my redness. My skin looked plumper, soothed, hydrated, and my pores looked less blackhead-y. It's not going to give you the purifying effects of a clay mask, but that's not what I want it for--especially since harsh clay masks are often so bad and irritating on sensitive or redness-prone skin types.
Now, stayed tuned for Drugstore Mask Heroes, Part 2! What are you favourite drugstore masks?
