the no makeup-makeup bold lip: chanel lip powder duo review

It's no secret that even though I'm a total makeup hoarder, I am also a huge fan of the no makeup-makeup look. I just can't stand when it looks like you have makeup sitting on your skin, you know?

But sometimes, you just feel like adding a chic, editorial punch of colour to your usual no makeup-makeup routine. If you don't want something high-maintenance that looks super "lipstick-y", then read on...

How to rock a bold lip with a no makeup-makeup look

You can obviously use any lippie you like for this look and just blot it down to achieve a matte, stained effect.

But I am currently absolutely loving the limited edition Chanel Lip Powder Duo. I bought it in the middle shade, Rosso Pompeiano.

I thought it was so innovative and interesting as well! In my opinion, this is the perfect lip option for a no makeup-makeup day.

It's housed in a lovely black Chanel compact, with one compartment for a lip balm and one for a pressed powder pigment.

You first apply the lip balm using the brush included, coating the lips entirely. Then you take the powder applicator and swipe and press the pigment on top of the balm. With one layer, the effect is a sheer matte stain. With two or more layers, the effect is a pop of matte pigment that still manages to look subtle.

If you've tried the Glossier Generation G lipsticks and not been entirely impressed with the pigmentation or lasting power, but still love the look of a sheer matte, then this is definitely one to pick up!

Does it pass the feasting test?

This has very good lasting power, but you'll definitely need to touch up the middle of the lips where it will have faded from eating. It's not transfer-proof, but it will last without the need for any touch-ups throughout a tea & biscuits break (take it from me).

Have you guys tried the Chanel Lip Powder Duo?
